Show 34 CAUGHT I -II Ml. 1 1 James Eads Howe, "Millionaire "Mil-lionaire Hobo," and Three Women, in Dragnet. KAN'S AS CITY, March 2. Thirty-four men, including James Eads Howe of Ft. Louis, self-styled "millionaire hobo," and three women were arrested by the police here tonight when two meetings, from which quantities of I. W. W. literature were taken, wore raided. The three women wom-en were released. The men are held for investigation. I. W. W. tnmbership cards were found oji a number of the men, according to the police, who announce?! that thev were Jnvcstieatins reports of a movement to establish a large brunch of the I. W. W. in Kansas City. Handbills distributed in the last few days, and which have fallen into the hands of tho police, advertised one of the meetings raided with this announcement: Special meeting of the migratoi-v, casual cas-ual and unemployed. Subject, Internationalism.' Interna-tionalism.' " The meetings woro being held ostensiblv under the auspices of the Oil Workers' International union and the Agricultural Workers' International union, the police said. H was announced at police headquarters headquar-ters late tonight that the men probably would be delivered lo the federal authorities authori-ties tomorrow. |
