Show FUNERAL SERVICES LAST SUNDAY FOR GEORGE E, ANGELL Funeral services were held in Leeds Sunday for George E. Angell, who died Friday, from cancer of the stomach. Bishop I. E. McMullin had charge of the services. Singing. "I Know That My Redeemer Redeem-er Lives." Prayer. H. A. Jolley. Singing, "Some Time We'll Understand." Under-stand." The speakers were David McMullin and Charles F. Hansen. As closing numbers the choir sang. "Nearer Mv God to Thee," and "Wo Shall Meet Beyond the River" Benediction was pronounced by Milton Mil-ton Moody. George E. Angell was one of the eldest Leeds pioneers. He was born in Salt Lake City February 6. 1860, ! the son of Alma and Charlotte An-j An-j pell. His father was a member of I Zion's camp and came to Utah in ! ! 8-18. The Angell family moved to i Leeds about 18C8. the deceased being a small boy at that time. In 1880 he was married to Rebacca A. Wilkinson in the St. George temple. Soon after their marriage they went to Navajo county, Arizona, to make their home. After the hardships of many years, they returned to Leeds and has since resided there. He was the father of 13 children, ten of whom survive, with his widow, two sisters and three brothers. Mr. Angell had been engaged in the fruit raising and gardening business and has served the town as school trustee, constable, and justice of the peace. All but two of his children. Mrs. Byron By-ron Millett, who is ill with flu in Salt Lake City, and Wayne, who was detained de-tained by the storm, were here when their father died. |
