Show Services Held Wednesday for George P. Smith Funeral services were held in the Second-Eighth ward chapel Wednesday for George P. Smith, ' - r L il l George P.' Smith j 81, life-long resident of Springville, who died Sunday morning at his home after a lingering illness. Burial was in the - Evergreen cemetery under direction of A. Y. Wheeler and Son mortuary. Mr. Smith was born in Springville, Spring-ville, April 14, 1872, a son of William Wil-liam and Mary Jane Davis Smith. He received his schooling in this city and had always made his home here. He was employed on the railroad 30 years, retiring about 15 years ago. He married Anna May Harrison June 6, 1899, in Provo and the couple reecived their endowments in the Salt Lake Temple September Septem-ber 19, 1952. Surviving besides his widow are a son and two daughters, Howard D. Smith and Mrs. Frank (May-belle) (May-belle) Taylor, Springville; Mrs. John (Gena) Tomlinson of Aberdeen, Aber-deen, Ida.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Winnifred Danner, Lodi, California; Cali-fornia; Mrs. Lee( Leona) Brown of Graybull, Wyo.; 18 grandchildren grandchil-dren and nine great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Robertson, and one brother, eJrd Smith both of Springville. |
