Show Postmaster Tells How, When, to Send Xmas Parcels Townspeople who have men in the armed forces should have their Christmas shopping done or be' getting it done right away, it would seem from an announcement made by the postmaster this week. Parcels going to men by regular mail routes, should be sent not later than November 15. The earlier earl-ier they are sent, the more assurance assur-ance is given they will reach the men by Christmas. Air parcel-post should not go later1 than November 25. The regulations regu-lations for this type of mail includes in-cludes a limitation on the size of . the package, which must measure not more than 30 inches in length and girth combined and two pounds In weight. Christmas mail sent to Japan, Korea and the islands, before Nov. 15, is assured to reach its destination destin-ation before Christmas. Matches, lighter fluid and all tobacco are prohibited in the packages pack-ages addressed for delivery thru the military post armed forces outside out-side continental United States. Domestic money orders can be cashed at OPA and' NPO destinations. destina-tions. Exportation of currency to overseas military ports, offices or between such military postoffices where the dollar is not accepted medium of exchange,' is prohibited. Senders of packages are asked to write addresses, plainly, typewritten type-written preferred. For other information on sending send-ing packages, senders are asked to consult the postmaster. |
