Mrs D. S. Hopla spent a week to Opien as the guest of daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. jay Durrant. She also visited at the home of her Mother Mrs. C. W. Erickson in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hiller of Salt Lake cit.v wel"e visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reed j. Hales during the week. Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Hopla have had their two daughters Mrs. Jay Durrant of Ogden and Mrs. Lynn Casper and small daughter Linda Dale of Salt Lake City as guests over the week end while their husbands went hunting. Eight members of the Sierra Bomta Club met early in the evening even-ing at the home of Mrs. Barbara Murray last Thursday. Prom there they went in a group to China City Cafe for their supper after which they all enjoyed a show. Mrs. Valene Stevens of Provo gave the lesson in Relief Society Tuesday. She instructed the members mem-bers in the making of Christmas gifts. Mrs. Melvin Harwood and three children, Patricia, Jay and Beverly of Salt Lake City are spending a week as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Harmer. Russell Jensen who was injured in a hunting mishap in Fillmore Saturday has been moved to the Holy Cross hospital in Salt Lake City where he is receiving care from a specialist there. Mrs. Jensen, Jen-sen, his wife is staying in Salt Lake to be near him. The Camp Union DUP met at the home of Mrs. Grace Norwood Monday night. Mrs. Louise Nelson gave the lesson "They Came in Fifty-Three." The minutes were read by Mrs. Alma Whiting after which Mrs. LeNore Bills gave the history of her great grand mother Sarah Elizabeth Whiting Snow and also the history of Mrs. Snow's husband Warren Stone Snow. Mrs. Irma Hjorth was in charge of the meeting and Phyllis Johnson and Beth Jensen assisted Mrs. Norwood Nor-wood in hostess duties. A very delightful party was given at the home of Margie Wis-combe Wis-combe Monday evening honoring Bill Bradford who will leave soon for a mission to Japan. Those responsible re-sponsible fof planning the party were Arva Despain, Shirlene Riding, Rid-ing, Margene Hurst, Margene Wis-combe, Wis-combe, Caroline Everett, Norma Hatfield and Mary Ann Bird. The evening was spent in watching TV and playing games. Pot luck supper sup-per was served to approximately fifty guests from Mapleton, Springville and Provo. |
