I ill. ! j : : . r -. : .: 3' j j Mrs. Almira Lowe Eldest of Five Generations Honored She is the mother of seven sons and daughters, five of whom lived and reared children. Three are liivng, including, Mrs. Carter of Springville; James Stanley Lowe, Jerome, Ida.; Emil Henry Lowe, Eureka, Calif. There are also 36 grandchildren and 79 great grandchildren grand-children and four great great grandchildren. Mrs. Almira E. Lowe, eldest of five living generations, celebrated her eightieth birthday Monday, with a party at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Blake Carter, to which children, grandchildren and great grandchildren attended. Born in Monroe, Sevier county, Mrs. Lowe is a daughter of pioneers pio-neers Joseph Jasper and Almira Jane Gifford Powell. She received, receiv-ed, her schooling in Joseph and at Albian, Idaho. She was married to James Ezra Lowe February 9, 1890, at Albion, Ida. The marriage was later sol-omnized sol-omnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Lowe died on August 11, 1927 at Monarch, Utah. For more than 25 years, Mrs. Lowe did practical nursing in Sevier Se-vier county. Later, when she moved to Springville, she worked at the Sewing Center for a while. She has had comparatively good health until about a year ago. She lives alone at her home 595 East Seventh South, doing her house work and she also enjoys sewing and crocheting. Mrs. Lowe has a most congenial congen-ial disposition and her children and grandchildren find her good company and frequently have her as their guest. |
