Show School Crossings To Be Policed; City Gets Checks The city has received a check for $5,384. from the county for its share of the Memorial funds and the money will be spent fori the tennis courts and flag poles on the Memorial Park, it was dis-i closed at the city council meeting-on meeting-on Monday evening. It was also announced that city police would be at the grade school' road crossings at noon and night to help pupils across busy streets. It was also announced at the council meeting that the board of health had recently completed tests of fountains and of water used at dairies and found them free from contamination. A check for $25,000 has been received by city officers from the state to pay for the bridge constructed con-structed on Fourth South and Fifth East, it was stated. The entire amount was not used for the bridge and the remainder went into a bridge across Hobble Creek at the southwest section of Brook-,side. |
