He is survived by his wife; two sons, three daughters: Jerry, Highland; David, Brigham City; Mrs. Thoral (Carol) Rasmussen and Mrs. William (Ruth) Roggaman, West Valley; Mrs. Orvil (Linda) McKenzie, Fort Collins, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two brothers, one sister: Clair Coates and Mrs. Byron (Ardell) Knighton, Gunnison; Rex Coates, Pleasant Grove. He was preceded in death by a son, Lyle, a daughter, Lee Anne Daines, and a great grandson, Jason. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary. He and m his wife served a mission to the Atlanta, ? Georgia Mission. He was a High Priest group leader and a veteran in ms'MWarll;'-. He was long-time Din resident of American Mi Lee, Eagle River, Ark.; Gregory Mark, Palmer, Ark.; Mrs. John (Teresa Ann) Garland, Harrisburg, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; two brothers: Austin, Altamont; Newell, American Fork; three sisters: Mrs. Lovina Moubray, Lindon; Mrs. Margaret Wright, Duchesne; Mrs. Nelda Murphy, Bridgeland, Utah. Funeral services were held Oct. 5 in the American Fork 6th -Ward. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. Fork, until moving to Alaska in 1956. He spent his childhood and attended schools in Salt Lake City. He was a supervisor at Douglas Aircraft in Los Angeles, later moving to Utah County where he was employed by Mountain Fuel Supply Company for 34 years. He retired in 1979 after working as local agent in Pleasant Grove for 23 years. Survivors include his wife of Pleasant Grove; a son, Dennis R. Greene of Murray; two grandchildren; grand-children; three sisters, Mary Greene and Dora Formisano, both of Salt Lake City, and Ardith Austin of Richland, Wash. Funeral will be Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 S. 300 E., Pleasant Grove where friends may call from 11:30 until the time of the service. Afton Walter Steiner, 82, of American Fork, died Wedensday, Oct. 7, 1987, of a lingering illness in American Fork. He was born Aug. 15, 1905 in Pacheco, Chihuahua, Mexico to John Earnest and Martha Luella Porter Steiner. He married Emma Margaret Wright July 26, 1928 in J the Logan LDS Temple. She died July 2, 1969. He was educated in Oakley, Idaho. He lived in American Fork for the past 59 years. He j was a well-known j homebuilder and skilled j cabinet worker. He was an avid j fisherman and enjoyed ! hunting, bowling, ! football and basketball. I He was a member of the American Fork 1st i LDS Ward. He served as second counselor in the bishopric, ward clerk, Sunday School I president, MIA president and High I Priest group leader, he filled three missions for ! the LDS Church, to the i Central States in his I youth, the Alpine Stake ' mission and a building mission to South America. Survivors include two sons: Dale Wright Steiner, American Fork; Glade John Steiner, Lehi; six grandchildren; one foster granddaughter; 12 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 14 step greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister: Grandon A. Speakers included Edna Florence Peterson Youst, 89, died Oct. 8, 1987 in Petaluma, California after a long illness. She was born on Aug. 18, 1898 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, a daughter of James C. Peterson and Elnora Williamson Peterson. She married Ivor L. Peterson on July 19, 1917 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died on Nov. 8, 1954. She married George Youst on Sept. 7, 1956. He died Nov. 12, 1975. She lived in Lehi until 1946 when she moved to Santa Rosa, Calif, and she resided in that area until her death. She was active in the LDS Church where she held many positions. She is survived by three sons and three daughters: LeRoy Ivor Peterson, San Rafael, Calif.; Mrs. Fay (Ciel) Sterling, Petaluma, Calif. ; Mrs. Dee (La Von) Kirkman, Kelseyville, Calif.; Mrs. Dallas (Donna) Johnson, Pleasant Grove; Arnold Peterson, Peter-son, Salt Lake City; Geary Peterson, Grants Pass, Ore.; 26 grandchildren; grand-children; 34 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; and 10 two brothers and one sister: Jack Cook, Pleasant Grove; Howard Peterson, Monroe, Utah ; Mrs. Melvin (Ruth) Mc-Daniels, Mc-Daniels, Salt Lake City. Funeral services were held in the Rohnort Park Chapel on Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Park in Santa Rosa, Calif. Michael A. Thurgood Michael Alan Thurgood, 7, of Highland, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1987 at his home of cancer. He was born May 8, 1980 in Provo to Glen Stoker and Brenda Judd Thurgood. He was a student in the second grade at Highland Elementary and was a member of the CTR A class in the Highland 5th Ward.
