Show Accidents Mar Holiday Week A number of accidents marred an otherwise uneventful unev-entful Memorial Day weekend week-end in Moab, according to Police Chief Melvin S. Dal-ton. Dal-ton. On May 28, a 1905 Ford owned by Randy Zimmerman Zimmer-man was hit while parked in the Miller's Supermarket Supermar-ket parking lot doing about ?80 damage. This accident is still under investigation. Helen Knight, driving a 19G7 Ford ran into the rear end of a 19G8 Volks-waen Volks-waen driven by Deborah Barker on May 28 doing about $75 damage to each vehicle. Mrs. Knight was cited for improper lookout. An accident on the post rr; - 1 i , i omce parKing lot caused only minor damage whtn a 19G9 Pontiac driven by Leota Shumway backed into in-to a 19G7 Volkswagen bus driven by Peter Holland. About $100 damage was listed to the Volkswagen. On May 30, Pearl Mc-Knight Mc-Knight was cited for DWI after she hit a large sign in front of the Union 7G station on South Main with her 19G8 Rambler. About $1600 was listed as damage dam-age to the car. Leonard Ray Walter-schied Walter-schied was not injured when he turned his Honda over after Leonard E. Martin failed to yield the right of way to him. Damage to the motorcycle was estimated at $80 and Martin was cited for failure fail-ure to yield the right of way. In other action, four city ci-ty officers attended a school on sex crimes which was held in Monticello on Tuesday. Thursday, the entire en-tire group of officers is scheduled to attend a training train-ing session on FBI advanced advan-ced firearms and gas which will be held in Moab. |
