Show State Agency Rules on Tour Operation A conclusion to the long standing controversy between be-tween various Moab tour operators appears to have been reached this week, r The Public Service Commission Com-mission of Utah, after a long delay, has finally-ruled finally-ruled on hearings held 1-most 1-most a year ago with regard re-gard to the matter of the operation of land tour by Warren "Tex" McClatchy. McOlat'chy has been operating op-erating a boating tour business bus-iness in Moab for ten years and . offers jet boat toura on the Colorado River, raft Green Rivers, and rental canoes. For the . last year or so,, he has also been operating op-erating land tours in connection con-nection with his river op ieration, despite" his lack of a State license to do so. The newly issued PSC ruling states that McClatchy Mc-Clatchy may only furnish transportation to his boat customers as incidental to his boating, operations and may furnish such transportation transpor-tation only by the shortest route possible. Mr. McClatchy Mc-Clatchy stated that he was bringing passengers back from a point downriver by land vehicle because a full day on the water proved to be too much for some area visitors. .The commission commis-sion additionally ordered that he cease advertising land tour or implying by his advertising that land tours were provided by his Tour Center, although the Commission did allow him to offer courtesy land service ser-vice as incidental to the river ri-ver tours.
