Coming for the Christmas holidays were all of Ken and Valene Robert's family including includ-ing the Dave Roberts family of Henrieville; Riley and April Roberts, Gannon Roberts, Amberlee Roberts, all living and working in Phoenix, Ariz, and Tracy Mathison and husband with their baby from Washington, D.C. Gayle Ipson will be here with her father, Neil Ipson, before she has to return to her teaching job. Neil Ipson isn't feeling so good, either a touch of flu of all this cold weather seemed to get in the old bones. The Rockin R Guest Ranch is hosting a Smith family Christmas reunion for around 30 from Hurricane and up north around Provo. A beautiful time of year for a reunion! Mona Rae Twitchell had her family here during the holidays. Spending one night here with Leland and Marge Robinson was their son, Ken and two children. chil-dren. The Kirt Robinson family also stopped by for a visit. The Bud Ricketts family came to spend Christmas at the Ricketts home and it seemed like old times to see a Christmas tree in the front room all decorated deco-rated and colored lights shining. Bud's family were all here for the weekend. Max and Pat Ricketts, Tom and Charla Ricketts and family will all be here on the weekend for the New Year's celebration. Max has been having tests done at the hospital in Las Vegas so we hope he is feeling better. Jerry Savage and Tracy Savage, his daughter, have gone down to Las Vegas to check on the house and do some work on the yards for winter. They will be home on Saturday. There was a very special bunch of Christmas carolers coming around on Christmas eve and could they sing! When I checked, I learned they were all here visiting with their family, fami-ly, the Hal Jensens. Among them were Randy and Kathy Gould and family of Nephi; Eva Jane J. Green and children of Salt Lake City; Matt and Holly Gould of Spanish Fork and Dallas and Erin McRae of Lehi. Van and Betty Wiley and Tom Wiley picked up Pete and Irva Sudweeks in Kingston and all traveled to Cedar City to have dinner on Sunday evening with all the Charlie Brindleys and the Marcia Brindley Tobiasson children chil-dren and grandchildren. PHS Debate Team Takes Wins At Region And State Panguitch High School students stu-dents captured a number of SpeechDebate Medals at both Region and State competitions. They took 1st place at Region for the fourth year in a row where some 26 students competed in six different events at Valley High. At state, Panguitch took 5th place overall in competition held at Dixie College where 17 students from PHS took part. Senior Bracken Englestead captured cap-tured a gold medal in Student Congress where Autumn Hernandez took a bronze for her 3rd place efforts. Brett Sawyer brought home a 4th place in the Extemporaneous category and Dani Griffin a 5th in Impromptu. Continued next week. |
