Show TH EANDSBTJBG MINES The New Camp Has the Earmarks of a Great District The new camp of Randsburg which is located in the Mojave desert Califor nla near the edge of Death Valley I I has all of the earmarks of being a I wonderful district In speaking of this I I camp the San Diego World says I 0 H Savage western manager for the F ron Ballon company at San Jose has returned from Randsburg and Johannesburg in the Molave mining min-ing district which has astonished the entire country by its marvelous richness I rich-ness Mr Savage gives glowing accounts ac-counts of the mines and says they much more than justify all that has just al been said of them Teaming from the I I railroad station keeps many outfltsi l busy so great ha the traffic become that the Southern Pacific company is arranging to build a railroad from Mojave Mo-jave and the surveyors are now at work running a line back from Rands burg and Johannesburg When asked as to the stability of the mines Mr Savage said The half has not been told No such extensive or such rich mining section has ever been discovered anywhere before be-fore and the beauty of it is the mines have all paid their way from the grassroots grass-roots down The mineowners are not Inviting anybody to come they are too busy working their mines and taking tak-ing out the cold to worry their heads about anything else The boom we all hear about is worked up by the railroads and town lot owners and strange to say nearly I everybody who ha lots has made a good turn on them and improvements are going on rapidly Hundreds of wagons wag-ons laden with lumber and merchandise travel from Mojave to Randsburg and from Kramer to Randsburg The procession pro-cession never ends dar or night There are fully 5000 people in and around the Rand district and a great many valuable mines are noW being worked The milling is done within a I radius of ten or 12 miles of Rands i bur where plenty of water is obtainable obtain-able Prominent capitalists and mine owners of Los Angeles and Randsburg are now developing a big water supply within a few miles of Randsbunr and extensixe mills will soon be erected together to-gether with a cyanide plant The water question will not be a drawback much longer Wealthy mining men of this state and from Colorado have at last ceased crying down the Rand district in the hope of getting mining properties at their own figures and are now quietly buying every good mine which Is offered at anything like a reasonable figure and in many instances where very little development has been done which shows their faith in the section Mr Savage was asked concerning the report that he had purchased the Winnie and Yucca Tree both valuable I mines located within a mile and a half of Randsburg in the rich Yucca section sec-tion of the Rand district for a round sum in spot cash and that he bad been offered a handsome profit on his investment by prominent California and Colorado mining menThe men-The statement is correct said Mr Savage Several nersons have been figuring with me to get the property for an English syndicate but I will soon push work with a big force as the mines are both opened up and not mere prospects there being fully 15 000 worth of rich gold ore in slight already al-ready uncovered uncovere A remarkable feature of the many towns is that the cost of living Is not much greater than it is here and everything desired can be had almost as easily There Is a thorough organ isation of the citizens and life and property are as safe as anywhere |
