closeted all of the afternoon and late Into the night with his private secretary 11 H A Cohen and was not to be seen It has bee known for a week or more I that Captain De Lamar was expected to arrive in the city yesterday and more than one effort has been made by thQse who are curiously inclined to learn what he had decided to do in relation to the Mercur option but nothing definite or authentic could be obtained on the subject I sub-ject At the office of the Mercur company no light could be thrown on the matter althoush the feeling in that quarter is I that the option and bond will be taken
