' , . :v ' . r & ! : I MATTHEW JAMES SHAW SAM SONNTAG Eagles named Matthew James Shaw was honored hon-ored for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout at a special court of honor held Tuesday, April 15. The Eagle award was presented by Philip Sonntag, a member of the First Quorum of Seventy for the LDS Church. Matt is the son of Jeff and Rosan-ne Rosan-ne Shaw and is a member of Troop 634, Val Verda 11th Ward. Matt has recently served the troop as senior patrol leader. For his eagle project, he painted the house numbers num-bers on the new Bountiful garbage cans in his neighborhood. Matt is a seventh grade student at South Davis Junior High. He has, earned the Faith in God, Gospel in Action and On My Honor awards . along the trail to Eagle Scout. He is an avid golfer and also plays soccer. His family expresses appreciation apprecia-tion to his scout leaders who helped make this award possible; his father Jeff, Clyde Kunz, Ray Blake, Bill Lifferth and Russ Leavitt. Sam Sonntag, son of Mark and Frankie Sonntag, Bountiful, received re-ceived his Eagle Scout Award and "On My Honor" award at a special Court of Honor on April 15. The Eagle award was presented by his grandfather, Philip Sonntag, a member of the Quorum of the Seventy. He is a member of Troop 634 sponsored by the Val Verda 11th Ward. Sam is in ,the seventh grade at South Davis Junior High. He loves to play most sports, especially soccer, soc-cer, golf and tennis. For his Eagle project Sam, with the help of other scouts, cut out and sanded wooden building blocks for the pediatric department of Lakeview Hospital. He also cut out and painted wooden animal puzzles. He has served on several leadership leader-ship positions in his troop. Sam and his family would like to thank all the scout leaders for helping him achieve this goal, especially Jeff Shaw, Clyde Kunz, Bill Lifferth, Ray Blake and Russ Leavitt. |
