Show Cave Hollow gains approval By KATHRYN JENNINGS Farmington City Council approved Ordinance 86, annexing the Keith Olsen property in South Farmington and authorizing Mayor Arbuckle to sign the preliminary pre-liminary plat. This area will be known as the Cave Hollow subdivision. subdi-vision. Steve Robinson of Waste Management Man-agement of Ogden presented his bid for garbage collection in Farmington Farm-ington and asked the council to consider more than price in making their final decision for the contract award. Councilman Tennant presented the Recreation Board Master Plan for the city park. Mr. Brant explained ex-plained the plans for the coming summer. Ron Osborn, recreation director, direc-tor, reviewed the necessity of a new ball diamond in the northeast corner of City Park. He indicated that the city will probably host a state tournament in July and the additional ball diamond is needed. Pete Pondario also spoke for the necessity of an additional diamond. di-amond. The council voted three for and two against allowing the city recreation re-creation program to install a ball diamond, using the money from the concession stand revenues from past years. There was a report of the Festival Festiv-al Board with Lee Maxwell reporting report-ing on the proposed activities during dur-ing Festival Days July 17, 18, 19. There is to be a Miss Farmington contest, a pageant, tennis tournament, tourna-ment, foot races, various types of entertainment and cultural activities. activi-ties. Mr. Maxwell indicated that one of the goals of the board is to raise funds for the special community activities, including the cultural and musical programs. There was some opposition from the Council relating to certain phases of the program but the council finally approved the requests. re-quests. Farmington Junior High School requested the mayor or a councilman council-man attend the annual Faculty Awards Breakfast May 23. Two ninth grade students will be presented Outstanding Citizens of the Year Awards and the mayor or a councilman will present the awards. Councilman Brent Tennant Ten-nant will attend this function to do the honors. In other action, the Council voted unanimously to adopt the new Farmington Zoning Ordinances. Ordi-nances. These ordinances have been under discussion for several months. Many changes have occurred, affecting side yards and front yards, setbacks and other requirements, require-ments, also minimum lot size and density in multiple dwelling zones.
