Show Adequate Wiring Improves Lights j There is a little more to the phrase j "adequate wiring" than is usually visualized. Everyone is familiar with the necessity of sufficient electrical elec-trical outlets and the convenience of enough switches to light the way j around the house, but not all home owners are acquainted with "wire capacity" or "light that is right" or the need to prepare for the future. When a heavy duty appliance is used, such as ironer or washing machine, a voltage drop is caused and the lights in the house will be slightly dimmed. That is the result re-sult of insufficient wire capacity. A reliable electrician can inform the home owner as to the proper gauge wire necessary. Ceiling or bracket lights controlled by wall switches should be installed in all rooms, halls, and porches. If a wall switch controls a lighting outlet out-let serving movable lights then ceiling ceil-ing or bracket lights may be omitted omit-ted in the living room. In all homes more electric appliances appli-ances are being used now than ever before. Undoubtedly, the next few years will see the development of many more electrical appliances that will be used in homes. House wiring and outlets should be adequate ade-quate to take care of them. v |
