Show American Legion Members Travel, Entertain Yets at Hospital posed of approximately g8 organizations or-ganizations of which our Auxiliary Aux-iliary is one, conducted an Americanism day at the state prison. Mrs. May ' Hickman was in charge of the program and a group of ladies from our unit composed of Mary Kroll, Reida Crook, Thelma Jolley, Elva Wignall and Louise Bueh-ler Bueh-ler assisted with the services. On Feb. 4 the Auxiliary held an elaborate party for 50 veterans veter-ans at the Veterans Hospital, it was a two-hour program with Betty Conlay as chairman and the remainder of the committee being the officers of the Unit to assist her. Home made cake and ice cream made by the committee was served. All those vets that were confined to their bed were given special attention by the committee. The boys' chorus from Bryant High School along with a floor show that made up a varied program was well enjoyed, and the committee com-mittee is to be complimented on its endeavor for the shindig was one of which they can be justly proud. ! Bernard and Ruby Hnltqnis! are again grandma and grandpa for a brand new daughter has been born to Dorothy, their daughter. Karl and Susan, their two children, were all pepped up and enthused as the principal princi-pal members of the reception committee to welcome their little sister home. Congratulations Congratula-tions to all those concerned, es-pecially es-pecially grandma and pa. Last Monday evening several members of our post who are members of the 40 and 8 started start-ed for Morgan for the initiation of new members, but a nor-wester nor-wester began to spank them quite severely. In fact it got so severe they were compelled to turn back . Those who had the courage to venture forth on the evening were: Commander Grubb, Carl Brown and Ben Hig-bee. Hig-bee. Must be their old settler stock and very hardy, for by the looks of them when they returned re-turned you would think that they had gone through an offensive of-fensive that was pretty rough. On Tuesday evening, Feb. 10, the drum and bugle corps went to the Edgehill Ward to entertain enter-tain at the presentation of medals med-als for the Boy Scouts. The ceremonies were very impressive. impres-sive. The executive board has accepted ac-cepted the resignation of Comrade Com-rade Keith Bateman, as junior vice commander and chairman of the entertainment committee for the remainder of the year. Keith will be missed very much as he has been very industrious in his work for the post. But having changed" positions with the firm with which he is employed em-ployed he cannot give as mucl time as he would like or ha; been giving to the office. Hj was forced to resign.
