Bryan, and Mrs. Douglas Fisher during the past year. Mr. Anderson, principal of Sherman school, will automatically auto-matically retain his position' f assistant vice-president. On the same evening, slides were shown and a lecture given giv-en on the beauties of Utah as a flower center of the country. Another missionary has left the Rosecrest ward, this one being Oscar G. Rowland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar J. Rowland, 2S95 23rd East He was honored at a farewell testimanial last Sunday, at the Grandview ward chapel. Oscar has been called to go to the South African Mission. Mis-sion. Rebecca Chamberlain is once again traveling this time to Germany, where she will go to head one of the army hospitals over there. Rebecca has been a world traveler for a number of years now, spending some time in Puerto Rico and also in the Philippines. For the last year she has been at Lctterman hospital hos-pital in the Presido, San Francisco. Fran-cisco. Chances are that she will not have time to stop off in Salt Lake before going on to New lrork and thence to Germany... I Her father, Seth Chamberlain, who just recently underwent a very serious operation, is well on the road to recvery and expects ex-pects to back his mail route any day now. A most interesting program was given last Sunday in the East Mill Creek ward chapel by two young couples of that ward' Brother and Sister Lowell Piatt and Brother and Sister Keith Russon, both couples of whom have just recently moved into this ward. Brother Piatt is the owner of the Evergreen Confectionary on 23rd East and plans to build a new home on 27th So. The Russons live on the road going to East Mill Creek .canyon, and Keith is one of Uie new able scoutmasters of the ward. Teen-age talks were given by Elayne Waller and Nina Lou Neff. The dance sponsored by the East Mill Creek stake Mutual last Saturday at the Emerald Gardens proved to be a huge success as the place was filled to capacity. The success of this should encourage more of the young people of the stake to take advantage of the opportunity opportun-ity of attending such dances. We told you we would find out the details of the engagement engage-ment of Grant Weiler well, litre they are: The girl is Dorothy Doro-thy Stark, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stark of Mc-Gill, Nevada. Grant is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant N. Weiler, 2511 Evergreen Ave. They have set name is Frank McMusters. No date for their marriage has as yet been set. Clara is a student at the University and will graduate grad-uate in June with a Bachelor's degree in education. The literary meeting of the Relief Society of East Mill Creek ward consisted of a book review given by the well-known Helen Kimball. The book review re-view was "Sweet Love Remembered" Remem-bered" by Helen Cone Stafford. Staf-ford. It is a pioneer story of a mother's love. I East Mill Creek . . . (Continued From Page 3) Thursday and Friday are big days for the children of the elementary el-ementary and junior high schools of this district. On the afternoon of Thursday, all students stu-dents will help in the clean up of their school yards in cooperation cooper-ation with the city-wide cleanup-drive. Papers and leaves will be burned, lawns raked, shrubs trimmed, ditches cleaneld out, athletic fields raked over, and anything else that will improve im-prove the looks of the school. At Olympus Jr. high, it is plan- ned that the boys will take over the cleaning of the outside while the girls do the needed cleaning inside the building. A campaign is also being conducted to try to make the students realize that after things are cleaned up, they still have a responsibility that is to keep the building looking that way. Also at Olymps Jr. high, they have planned a party to take ! place after the cleaning is done. The main event will be a baseball base-ball game between a mixed faculty fa-culty team and a mixed student team all of which should prove i very interesting. Friday afternoon, all students will be dismissed to go home and aid in the clean up of their own homes and yards. Bob Eperson, a student of the University. They have set a tentative date in August as their day for marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Nile Perkins (Mrs. Perkins is the former Elaine Walker) are enjoying very much their honeymoon in ; California, bait will soon return re-turn to make their home on 7th East near 27th South which is quite near to home.
