Show Granite Plans Music ! Festival i The first in a series of evening ev-ening concerts wras presented last night at the Utah Copper Club in Magna by students from 8 junior high schools in the Granite school district. The program which included a 160-piece orchestra, a 185-piece 185-piece band and a 400 voice choir, will be presented again Monday in the Branite high school auditorium. The program pro-gram is scheduled to begin at 8:15 p. m. The presentation last evening in Magna was for the west side of the school district while the program Monday is for those of the east side of the district. The gaia music festival would not be complete without the participation of senior high students. stu-dents. They will present their musical program tonight at the Copper Club in Magna at 8:15 p. m. and- Wednesday night at 8:15 p. m. in the Granite high. 400 seniors will make up the band, orchestra, and choir. There is no charge, but admission ad-mission must be by tickets that are obtainable only at the various var-ious high schools and junior high schools. Music teachers for the various schools will participate partici-pate as directors of the numbers. num-bers. Central director and general gen-eral chairman of the four day event is Murray Lewis, acting supervisor of Granite school district. The programs at the Copper Club are under the direction of I David Gourley. |
