Show 'Know Utah' Week Jan. 4-11 On Jan. 4. the first Centennial event of the anniversary year, "Know Your Utah Week" will get under way. This is endorsed by the Centennial Commission and is under the sponsorship of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers in cooperation with the State Department De-partment of Publicity .. and Industrial In-dustrial Development. The purposes pur-poses and aims of "Know Your Utah Week" are as follows: 1. To agressively take a leading part as the Sons of Utah Pioneers organization in cooperation with the Utah Centennial and the Utah Publicity Pub-licity and Industrial Development Develop-ment Commissions, in all knowing more about our state and appreciating its worth. 2. To cooperate with all luncheon clubs, service organizations, organ-izations, schools, churches, and all concerned, who have a like interest in all the citizens of the state having knowledge and appreciation of our state. 3. To stimulate and assist the people of the state in acquiring ac-quiring .more information about Utah by acquainting them with the special sources of information available for distribution. 4. To stimulate more conscious con-scious interest and awareness of the great heritage passed on to us by our state pioneers. 5. To consider this the beginning be-ginning of what is hoped to be a continuing program under the sponsorship of the Sons of Utah Pioneers and the Utah Publicity and Industrial Development De-velopment Department. All to the end of preserving and honoring the memory of the oringinal pioneers of Utah and their contribution to us and to make us and posterity more conscious of the values and possibilities of our state and its people. During the week churches, schools, civic organizations and clubs throughout the state will sponsor programs and assemblies assem-blies built around a "Know Your Utah" theme. The "Know Your Utah" committee has been designed de-signed to carry out publicity services on a state-wide basis. Conunittee members are as follows: fol-lows: Dr. E. E. Monson, in charge of governor's proclamation, proclama-tion, Ciark Stohl, radio; Tracy Welling, state civic leaders proclamation; R. Emerson Curtis, Cur-tis, speaker' bureau; Lee Neb-eker, Neb-eker, schools; Richard W. James, publicity; associate members, David R. Trevithick, public relations rela-tions officer, Centennial commission: commis-sion: Wililam C. Winder. Utah Publicity and Industrial commissioner: commis-sioner: and T. R. Johnson, Og-den. Og-den. Utah. Local participation in the event will be under the direction of the Sugar House Sons of the j Utah Pioneers. , James B. Ca-' Ca-' boon is president of the group.
