Show Saves Dad's Life With Improvised Inhalator KANSAS CITY. An acetylene welding blowpipe and the quick thinking of his 18-year-old son saved John W. Poole's life. The son, Glenn, was welding in his father's shop while the elder Pool tended a gasoline-powered electric generator. Carbon monoxide monox-ide fumes overcame the father and tffe collapsed. Glenn rushed to a tank of oxygen. oxy-gen. With a blowpipe he fed oxygen oxy-gen into his father's mouth until his gasps became more frequent and his color more normal. Then Glenn called an ambulance. Hospital attendants said the father would recover. |
