Show Raedlett I By Mrs. Viola Jensen Relief Society Gives Sunday Program The Relief Society presented their Sunday evening service entitled "An Invitation to Happiness." Hap-piness." Prelude music Naion Slaugh; song, "Glory to God On High;" invocation, Lula Dudley; greetings, by President Madge Wall; song, "Let The Mountains Shout For Joy,"by Singing Mothers. Ethel Durfee gave the talk of the evening; a reading, by Ma-ble Ma-ble Nebeker, and a talk by Stake President LaRue Nixon, of Roosevelt; song "Thanks Be To God," by Singing Mothers. Visitors at Relief Society, on Tuesday were Mrs. Archie Mc-Conkie Mc-Conkie and Mrs. Josephine Taylor, missionaries, and Lucy Ashta and Mamie Alhandra. Work consisted of making quilt blocks. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Brough and family were Salt Lake visitors vis-itors Monday and Tuesday. The M.I. A. practiced dancing Tuesday evening for the Gold and Green Ball. Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Stoddard went to Salt Lake City to attend at-tend the Temple excursion. Mrs. Myril Moore, Mrs. Selvia Moore and Mrs. Wanda Kettle spent the weekend in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. William Chandler Chand-ler entertained their son, Martin, Mar-tin, and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Jensen at a chicken dinner, Sunday Sun-day afternoon. The boys left on Tuesday morning for the army. P-TA HEARS PROGRAM The Avalon P-TA meeting was held Thursday evening with Principal Squires conducting. Mr. Clyde Johnson, of the Union Un-ion High School music department depart-ment arranged the following program: girls' double trio, "Bells Across The Meadow;" piano' solo, Carol Memmott; double trio, "April Showers;" vocal solo, Carol Todd, "I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen;" Kath-leen;" piano solo, Marta Morrill, Mor-rill, and a double trio "Among My Souveniers." Mrs. Melvin Gardner and daughter, Billie, and Mrs. Du-ane Du-ane Wall were Monday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wall. Albert Harris returned home Saturday after receiving aid in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. WilLiam Thomas Thom-as Chandler, Jr. are the proud parents of a baby girl, born Saturday at the Roosevelt hospital. hos-pital. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse S. Brough, of Whiterocks, spent the weekend week-end visiting members of their family here. Blake V. Peay moved his wife and family home from Provo, where they have spent the winter. win-ter.
