Show Variety Club To Honor Seniors The Variety Club held their weekly meeting at the home of Mrs. Betty Mitchell Thursday evening. They discussed plans to honor the high school graduates grad-uates at a Senior Tea. The remainder re-mainder of the evening was spent in playing Canasta and a delicious salad luncheon was served to the following: Jackie Berrett, Georgia Lunt, Lois La-' Rose, Rhea Lambert, Nedra Mohlman, Donna Iorg, LeOna Swallow, Muriel Kolb, Rita Hansen, Eva Hartman, Anna Hartman and the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Art Case and son, Scott, were at Mt. Emmons over the weekend. Mr. Case returned to Salt Lake, Sunday evening, but Mrs. Case and son stayed to care for her aged grandmother. Her mother, Mrs. Leslie Orr, is in Vernal with another, daughter, Mrs. Cleora Allen, who has recently suffered suffer-ed a heart attack. Johnny Lambert spent part of last week in Salt Lake on business. j : Barton Bennion, who has been serving with the U. S. Navy, came home Friday to spend a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Evan Bennion. He has been stationed at Treasure Island, Is-land, but expects to' , receive overseas, duty in the near future. fu-ture. Glen Case, who has been serving ser-ving with the Armed Forces for the. past two years, returned home Saturday. He has been stationed in Japan. Miss Berneice Boswell spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Volhey Boswell. She was accompanied by her cousin, Miss Carol Dean Boswell, Bos-well, who is attending B.Y.U. Carol Dean is a former resident of Mt. Emmons, and is a daughter daugh-ter of Lorin Boswell. The sophomore class of Alta-mont Alta-mont High School had a roller skating party at the Altonah ward hall Wednesday evening. The party was supervised by Mrs. Rita -Hansen. Mrs.. Wanda DahL is visiting in Spring City with her husband's, hus-band's, relatives. Mr.-and Mrs. Lowell Bennion and son, Kevan. of Salt Lake, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Evan Bennion. The High Priests and wives of Moon Lake Stake held a party par-ty Friday night at the Altonah ward hall. Those present from Mt. Emmons were Bishop and Mrs. Bovee Mecham, Mr.' and Mrs. Volney Boswell, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gomm, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Young, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Bennion, Ben-nion, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Case, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Case. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Hansen spent the weekend in Salt Lake on business. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Bennion and son and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Bennion were dinner guests at the A. B. Madsen home in Duchesne, Du-chesne, Sunday. The Stake Mutual Drama night was held in Mt. Emmons, Tuesday evening. A very interesting inter-esting program was rendered with every ward in the stake participating. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dastrup Das-trup and family, Mr. and Mrs., Al Taylor, and Mrs. George' Berrett were among the local people who visited in Roosevelt, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Lavear Timothy, of Clearfield, visited with relatives rela-tives and friends over the weekend. week-end. LaFarge Dastrup made a business busi-ness trip to Roosevelt and Vernal, Ver-nal, Saturday. . Carl Lister is in Salt Lake, where he expects to undergo an operation for a double hernia. . Melwood Wall was in Salt Lake.last week. He returned with a new Ford pickup. Cecil Hanberg, , who is employed em-ployed at Hill Field, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hanberg. Lorin Allred and Charles Ferguson were in Salt Lake over the weekend. Mr. Allred was going to purchase music for his band. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Humphreys Hum-phreys spent part of last week with their daughter and son-in-law,- Mr. and Mrs. Gene Baxter. The Humphreys have spent the winter in Arizona and are returning re-turning to their home at St. Anthony, An-thony, Idaho. Orson Monsen was taken to Roosevelt Sunday for medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Carroll and son, of Union, visited relatives rela-tives and friends in Altamont during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Floid Hartman were in Salt Lake Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. Hartman attended attend-ed a meeting of the Cancer Society. |
