Show 81,694 Drivers Lost Licenses In California A total of 81,694 driver's licenses li-censes were suspended during the first three years of the California Cal-ifornia Motor Vehicle-Safety Responsibility Re-sponsibility law, which is similar sim-ilar to the new Utah law which becomes effective September 3, reports Lawrell Jensen, Roosevelt, Roose-velt, and A. Noble Kimball, Duchesne, Du-chesne, local Farmers Insurance Group district agents. During this period, a total of 817,165 accident reports were filed with the State of California and only 641,099 motorists were able to file an automobile liability lia-bility insurance policy as security se-curity and proof of financial responsibility re-sponsibility to avoid suspension of drivers' licenses. Another 8,587 deposited cash to avoid suspension of licenses. "Under the Utah law," said the Farmers Insurance agent," a motorist who injures or kills another person or damages property pro-perty in excess of $100 must report the accident in writing to the Department of Public Safety and deposit an automobile automo-bile liability policy, or a bond, or cash or certain securities, as proof of his ability to satisfy any judgments that may result from the accident. Failure to make such report and to deposit security will result in suspension suspen-sion of his driver's license." |
