Show Mrs. Elsie Bird 4-H Calf Dies Froni Bloating Just a word of warning to the 4-H Club boys that are feeding calves. One of the Lucky Tramps, Lynn Lamar Ross, fed his calf some third crop hay Thursday night and Friday morning his calf bloated and died. He wanted to' warn the boys to be? careful feeding. High Councilmen Al White and Marvel Moore, of Duchesne were speakers at Sacrament meeting Sunday' night. Lois Ter-peuing Ter-peuing was also a speaker. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ross and John Capson made a trip to Salt Lake City, Monday on business. bus-iness. Tuesday of last week a large group of Relief Society ladies attended the show at Roosevelt "Christmas Carol," which was shown as a literature lesson. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lusty, son. Clark, and Arden Evans attended the Stock Show in Og-den. Og-den. Charles Jensen made a trip to Price during the week. Mrs. Max (Evelyn) Mull ins and son, Kenneth, spent a few days visiting Mrs. Lula Mullins in Roosevelt. While there they received a phone call from Max, who had just returned to the States from a trip to Korean waters. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bird have received a letter from their son, Melvin, and family. Melvin is stationed in Pearl Harbor. He said they had attended conference con-ference at Honolulu and had seen Helen Odekirk and had a very nice time visiting with her. They took a lot of pictures of the misison home. Stanley Ross took a truck load of cattle to Salt Lake during dur-ing the week. He also visited his wife, who is staying with her sister while she is receiving medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Lusty went to Salt Lake City, Friday, to go through the Temple with Mrs. Lusty's brother, Harley Evans, who was married. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Roper, of Upalco, accompanied them. Mrs. Rose Gilbert and son, Larry, of Roosevelt, attended Sunday School here Sunday. ATTEND RECEPTION Mr. and Mrs. LeGrand Gilbert, Gil-bert, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bird, Deon and Mildred Bird attended the wedding dance at Bridgeland, Saturday night for Mr.-and Mrs; Senor Mortensen. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Roper and son, Allan, spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Lusty. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lab-rum, Lab-rum, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Merch-am Merch-am and family, of Roosevelt; Mr. and Mrs. Loryn Ross, of Pleasant Valley and family, visited vis-ited at the home of Mr and Mrs. Marion Ross. Mrs. Clair Duncan and children, chil-dren, of Neola, and Mrs. Emma Solmonson. of Roosevelt, were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bird on Sunday. Mrs. Jack Gilbert received a phone call from her husband, who is in Moses Lake, Washington Washing-ton advising her he has found a house and that she was to come up there this week. Those Sunday School officers and teachers who attended Sunday Sun-day School convention at Duchesne, Du-chesne, Sunday, were: Leon Ross, Gayle Gilbert, Celia Gilbert, Gil-bert, .Gishop Garn Gilbert and Donna Ross. Mrs. Garcia Olsen, of Du- chesne, visited Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Gilbert. Mr. and Mrs. Porter Merrell, of Duchesne, visited Saturday at the home of their daughter and family, Mrs. Jack Gilbert. Mr. and Mrs. Arlo' Richens left Sunday for Salt Lake City, i where they will make their ! home for the winter. |
