Show Mrs. Ethel Beeb Convict Caught The whole upper country was quite excited by the escape of Eugene Wright Saturday or early Sunday morning, Oct. 16 or 17, from a prison camp near Moon Lake. Max Walker and Bob Devine, guards of the State Penitentiary, came Sunday Sun-day to assist in tracking down the escapee. Others assisting at different times were Jesse Palm, Clarence Jones and Dan Allen. Jesse Palm accompanied Mr. Devine to' Evanston, Wyo. Tuesday ' in' search for the escapee. Cliff Clark, a student at a vocational school in Salt Lake City, came home over the week end to go deer hunting with his father, William Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Clark, Mrs. James Clark and Mrs. Norline Batty of Vernal visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Oat-'cott Oat-'cott and sons of China Lake, California spent 10 days with Mrs. Oatcott's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith. Miss Barbara Smith and Mrs. Minnie Lue Stevenson were shoppers in Salit Lake City last weekend. Those from Altonah attending the shower for Mrs. Richard Stringham (Dora- Wall) in the Mt. Emmons Ward hall Oct. 18 were Mrs. Violet Smith, Barbara Bar-bara Smith, Mrs. Lola Jones, Mrs. Mary Allen, Mrs. Verna Allred, Mrs. Jeane , Lamlbert, Mrs. Florence Jessen, Mrs. Ar-da Ar-da Ames, Mrs. Vevie Reay. TEACH LEATHERCRAFT Albert Potts of Upalco and a teacher of Arts and Crafts at Altamont attended MIA on Tuesday night, Oct. 19, to demonstrate dem-onstrate Leathercraft to the Boy Scouts. Florence Weeks spent last weekend with Sharon Bird - in Sunnyside.. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Allen were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones Sunday in honor of Mrs. Allen's birthday anniversary. Tuff Reay of Ioka was in here Wednesday on business. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Danndels and ;baby son of Gusher visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Noonman LaRose Monday. HOME FROM HOSPITAL Lewis Daniels rteurned to the home of his sister, Mrs. Norman LaRose, Saturday, Oct. 16, from the Roosevelt hospital where he was operated on for appendicitis appendi-citis Monday, Oct. 11. Mr. and Mrs.' Dewey Jesson and fainlily spent last week with relatives in Price. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Dump of Midvale arrived Thursday to visit With Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dump. The men enjoyed the deer hunt. |
