Show LAPOINT Mrs. Mable Jenkins Mrs. Clifta Richins of Davis Ward spent a few days with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rile Blackburn and Mrs. Delia Burton Bur-ton this week. Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Rye and family of Maeser visited Mr. and Mrs. Sike Thompson. Last Friday the Lapoint school helld a party assembly honoring National Poetry week. Many beautiful andentertaininig peoms were read by the students. Mrs. Maybee Swain and children child-ren of Steamboat Springs, Colo, spent last Tuesday night with Mr. and Mrs. Sike Thompson, and family . NURSE VISITS SCHOOL Mrs. Rust, the school nurse from Vernal visited our school and gave demonstrations on brushing and caring for the teeth to Mr. Freestone's and Mrs. Thompson's classes. iSike Thompson went to Mt. Pleasant Friday and brought his Son, Sam and several other Wasatch Academy students home for the weekend. Last week the state elementary and secondary supervisor and superintendent Max Albbott and Miss Stringham visited the Lapoint school. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jenkins were in Roosevelt Thursday where Mr. Jenkins received medical aid. BIRTHDAY PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Arden Hacking gave a birthday party in honor of their son David. Games were played and refreshments were served to a large group of little kiddies. Colleen Lamb and Velda Young were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Labrum Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Rawel Nebeker of Salt Lake Oity, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Talboe and mother were in Lapoint visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Bigelow and other friends recently. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Perry and children of Dragerton were weekend guests of Mr. Perry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bigelow. Larry Bigelow. Charles Daniels Dan-iels of Ft. Duchesne and Larry Allired of Roosevelt went to Salt Lake Oity Monday and enlisted en-listed in the Air Force. They re now stationed in Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Biege-low Biege-low are grandparents of a baby glirl born Oct. 19 to Mr. and Mrs. Norman Long of Roosevelt. Roose-velt. She was born in the hospital hos-pital in Roosevelt. The little Miss will meet a Sister when She goes home. The Boy Scouts had a party at the Ward chapel Friday. The time was spent playing Bingo, and refreshments were served. Reed Harrison visited his sister and brother-in-daw, Mr. and Mrs. Emlil Myers in Salt Lake Oity recently. His sister returned home with him and is a guest of her grandmother, Mrs. Barbara1 Nyburg. Delbert Horrocks of Nevada visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Horrocks. His mother is very ill at her home Darris Rasmuissen of Provo spent the weekend with his I parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thinner Rasmussen. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lowe and family of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Col-ton Col-ton and family were weekend guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thumer Rasmussen. Mr. Lowe and Mrs. Colton joined Mr. Rasmussen on a deer hunt. GIVEN DISCHARGE Mrs. Fern Anderson received word her son, Virgil Miller, who was in the Navy was discharged dis-charged and went to Montana to get employment. |
