Show CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT A JOINT RESOLUTION PKO-POSING PKO-POSING TO AMEND SECTIONS 2, 3 AND 4 OF ARTICLE IX OF THE CONSTITUTION OF UTAH BY CHANGING THE CONSTITUTION CONSTI-TUTION OF THE LEGISLATURE MAKING EACH COUNTY OF THE STATE A SENATORIAL DISTRICT, BY REAPPORTIONING REAPPORTION-ING REPRESENTATIVES AMONG THE SEVERAL COUNTIES COUN-TIES OF THE STATE ACCORDING ACCORD-ING TO THE 1950 CENSUS, AND BY AUTHORIZING THE LEGISLATURE LEGIS-LATURE TO DECREASE AS WELL AS INCREASE THE NUMBER OF REPRESENTATIVES. REPRESENTA-TIVES. Be it resolved by the legislature . of the State of Utah, two-thirds of all members elected to each house concurring therein: Section 1. It is proposed to amend Sees. 2, 3 and 4 of Article DC of the Constitution of Utah to read: Section 2. The Legislature shall provide by law for an enumeration of the inhabitants of the State, A. D. 1905, and every tenth year thereafter, and at the session next following such enumeration, and also at the session next following an enumeration made by the authority au-thority of the United States, shall revise and adjust the apportionment apportion-ment for representatives on the basis of such enumeration to ratios to be fixed by law. Section 3. The Senate shall consist con-sist of one member from each county coun-ty of the State, and the House of Representatives of seventy-five members. The Legislature may increase in-crease or' decrease the number of representatives, but the number of representatives shall never be less than twice nor greater than three times the number of senators. Section 4. Each county of the state shall constitute a senatorial district. REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICTS. Until otherwise provided by law, representatives shall be apportioned apportion-ed among the several counties of the State as follows: Provided, That in any future apportionment made by the Legislature, each county shall be entitled to at least one representative. The County of Box Elder shall constitute the First Representative District, and be entitled to two representatives. The County of Cache shall constitute con-stitute the Second Representative District, and be entitled to three representatives. The County of Rich shall constitute con-stitute the Third Representative District, and ba entitled to one representative. The County of Weber shall constitute con-stitute the Fourth Representative District, and ba entitled to eight representatives. The County of Morgan shall constitute con-stitute the Fifth Representative District, and ba entitled to one representative. The County of Davis shall constitute con-stitute the Sixth Representative District, and ba entitled to three representatives. The County of Tooele shall constitute con-stitute the Seventh Representative District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Salt Lake shall constitute the Eighth Representative Representa-tive District, and be entitled to twenty-seven representatives. The County of Summit shall constitute con-stitute the Ninth Representative District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Wasatch shall constitute the Tenth Representative District and be entitled to one representative. l'he County of Utah shall constitute con-stitute the Eleventh Representative District, and be entitled to eight representatives. The County of Uintah shall constitute con-stitute the Twelfth Representative District and be entitled to one representative. The County of Juab shall constitute con-stitute the Thirteenth Representative Representa-tive District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Sanpete shall constitute the Fourteenth Repre- ' sentative District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Carbon shall con- ' stitute the Fifteenth Representative Representa-tive District, and be entitled to two representatives. The County of Emery shall constitute con-stitute the Sixteenth Representative Representa-tive District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Grand shall constitute con-stitute the Seventeenth Representative Represent-ative District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Sevier shall constitute con-stitute the Eighteenth Representative Representa-tive District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Millard shall constitute con-stitute the Nineteenth Representative Representa-tive District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Beaver shall constitute con-stitute the Twentieth Representative Representa-tive District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Piute shall constitute con-stitute t the Twenty-first Representative Repre-sentative District, and be entitled to one representative. Tho County of Wayne shall constitute con-stitute the Twenty-second Representative Repre-sentative District, and be entitled to one renresentative. The County of Garfield shall constitute the Twenty-third Representative Repre-sentative District, and be entitled to one representative, i The Countv of Iron shall constitute con-stitute the Twenty-fourth Renresentative Renre-sentative District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Washington shall constitute the Twenty-fifth Renresentative Renre-sentative District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Kane shall constitute con-stitute the Twenty-sixth Representative Repre-sentative District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of San Juan shall constitute the Twenty-seventh Representative Re-presentative District, and be entitled en-titled to one representative. The County of Duchesne shall constitute the Twenty-eighth Representative District, and be entitled to one representative. The County of Daggett shall constitute the Twenty-ninth Representative Repre-sentative District, and be entitled to one representative. Section 5. This resolution shall be submitted to the electors of the state at the general election In 1954 In accordance with Article XXIII. Section 1 of the Constitution Constitu-tion of TTtnh. I. LAMONT F.
