Show Mail All Packages Early For Xmas Postmaster Says The Post Office Department would like once again to request re-quest the cooperation of the mailing public in preparing and mailing their Christmas mail. The full public cooperation is needed to facilitate the dispatch dis-patch and delivery of Christmas cards and parcels. The following follow-ing information should be given giv-en special attention to avoid unnecessary delay and disap-I disap-I pointment. i MAIL EARLY. All out of state mail should be mailed before be-fore Dec. 11. Last year many out-of-state parcels were mailed (Continued On Back Page) Mail Early . . . (Continued from Page 1) late, and consequently did not reach their destination until after af-ter Christmas. , Purchase stamps in advance of the rush period. Prepay postage pos-tage fully. Pack, wrap and tie packages carefully and do not seal them. Enclose a slip containing the name and address of the sender and addressee. Parcels mpy be marked "Do Not Open Until Christmas," "Merry Christmas" etc. But do not enclose writing ' in the packages. Make . your addresses plain and complete. Use zone' numbers num-bers and all helpful information informa-tion possible in your address. Send holiday greetings as First Class mail to obtain the many advantages which this service affords. Unsealed Christmas ' cards containing no writing other than "Merry Christmas" and name, sent as third class mail are chargeable with 2$ postage. Paitrons having a number of i cards are urged to tie them in bundles with stamps all in one corner before mailing. Out of town and Roosevelt cards should be tied and mailed separately. |
