Show Fined Conference of 1954 Set For Tills Weekend f , ; vi r ' i HOLLIS G. HULLINGER . . . President The final quarterly conference confer-ence for the Roosevelt stake. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for 1954, has been set for Saturday evening and Sunday, Dec. 4 and 5, is an announcement made by Hol-lis Hol-lis G. Huillinger, stake president. presi-dent. According to Pres. Hullinger, the general authorities will not be represented at the conference, confer-ence, due to a special "Solemn Assembly" being held in the St. George Temple which includes the top leaders of the church. The first presidency has sent out to all stakes holding conference con-ference this weekend, a suggested sug-gested agenda to follow. Pres. Hullinger and his two counselors, coun-selors, Clifford E. Drollinger and Ezra J. Nixon, will preside over the various conference sessions. The first meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday evening eve-ning and will be a general Mel-dhizedek Mel-dhizedek leadership meeting with the following expected to be in attendance: stake presidency, presi-dency, high council, patriarch, stake clerks, stake and ward committees for senior Aaronic priesthood, stake superintenden-cy superintenden-cy of Sunday School and MIA, stake mission presidency, ail presidencies, secretaries and group .leaders of Meldhizedek priesthood quorums, bishoprics and clerks. At 8 o'clock, all men and women wo-men of the stake are being invited in-vited to attend the second conference con-ference session. After the program pro-gram that is arranged, a social will -follow. A special plea has gone out to the bishops of the thirteen wards to encourage their adult members to join the 8 o'clock meeting. Sessions of the conference on Sunday are scheduled for 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and the MIA meeting meet-ing at 7:30 in the evening. Various Var-ious leaders in the wards and stake will be called to make reports during the general sessions ses-sions on Sunday. AH members of the stake are being asked to observe ob-serve the fast until after the 1 o'clock meeting. A chorus from the High Priests quorum of the stake, under the direction of David Watkins will supply the singing sing-ing for the conference. A special program is being arranged by 'the stake MIA leaders for the concluding session ses-sion of the conference at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Dott Ottosen, president presi-dent of the YWMIA, and George Hacking, superintendent superinten-dent of the YMMIA, are jointly joint-ly responsible for the program. |
