Show West Bountiful By ALICE MITCHELL The weather has been the subject on the tongues of most people. The extensive rains have affected many people with basements. Sump pumps have been going night and day in many homes. It has been impossible im-possible for children to ride bicycles bi-cycles to serve as the mode of transportation and walking has been prohibitive because of the wet clothing and books which are being worn and carried. car-ried. Most of the students have had to be transported by automobile. auto-mobile. This has caused some traffic snarls at the West Bountiful Boun-tiful Elementary School. It has brought even more traffic for direction by the police. On an ordinary day, the police have trouble directing the drivers, but inclement weather multiplies multi-plies the problem many more times. Housewives at home have had a problem as many of the tomatoes and late fruits have become soggy and useless. use-less. They have not had the time to mature properly. They have needed the sun to help with maturation. Life has to go on inspite of the weather. The Dan Taylors entertained a cousin, Penny Brown from Genola. LDS Church general conference confer-ence will be held in Salt Lake City Saturday and Sunday. The 6th Ward Relief Society will hold a special luncheon at the Lion House on Oct. 19. The 6th Ward is planning a budget fair the first part of November. Delynn Zesiger, Kyle Hall and Milt Soelberg are playing little league football. Greg Ihler is the coach. The bishopric of the 4th Ward was changed last week. Dell Zesiger is now a member of the high coincil of the west stake. Kim Samuelson is now in the bishopric. Dave McKean Jr. named his son last week in Fast Meeting. Guests were Kara's folks. Of course, the older David McKeans were there also. Rod Cahoon traveled to Oklahoma to the Air Traffic Controller's School. The Tim Prinsters are going to Illinois to work for Kenway. We wish them well in their new locality. The Bishop Wendell Wilds attended the Stringham Reunion Reun-ion at the Woods Cross Park. It was cold and rainy, but it was fun to see all the folks again. Wendell's sister Marline's son was hospitalized for emergency appendectomy. Streeper Wood has been in Idaho during the past month, working on a cabin. Florence Ware's brother, Theo Burnham and wife are so ill they are homebound, according to sister, Florence. Clara Turner was feted on her birthday last week. Nedra Allen, a daughter, visited for her birthday. During both Saturday and Sunday all of the children visited her. |
