Show Lyman Burdick Dies Following Operation Funeral services for Lyman Burdick, 57, road foreman for State Roadshed No. 56, who died Friday at 3 p. m. in a Salt Lake hospital following an operation, op-eration, were held Tuesday morning, July 25, in the Bluebell Blue-bell LDS chapel, Bishop Gai "-ner "-ner Goodrich officiating. Speakers were Leslie B. Goodrich and E. L. Murphy. Opening prayer was by U. B. Winkler and benediction by John Larson. Musical selections included vocal solos by Vola Hancock, accompanied by Mrs. Virgie Murphy; by Harvey L. Hutchinson, state road superintendent, superin-tendent, accompanied by Thel-ma Thel-ma Cook; and a duet by Porter L. Merrell and Fern Mitchell, accompanied by Kara Lea Bench. Mr. Burdick had served as a former president of the Farmers' Farm-ers' Irrigation Co., and of the Moon Lake Water Users associ- ation; as a member of the Dry Gulch Irrigation Co. board; and was deputy sheriff for western' Duchesne county for several years. He had been State Road-shed Road-shed No. 56 road foreman for over a year prior to his death. Born April 17, 1893, in Spring City, Utah, a son of Lu-tells Lu-tells and Esther Zebriski Burdick, Bur-dick, he married Dora Gough, Feb 7, . 1915 at Price. They moved to the Uintah Basin in 19 iq, settling at Bluebell. They moyed to Roosevelt a year ago. He is survived by his wife, Roosevelt; his mother, Duchesne; Du-chesne; four sons. Leon "Salt Lake City: Darrell. Bakers-field, Bakers-field, Calif.; Donald, a second lieutenant in the Army at Ft. Ord, Calif.; and Max, Roosevelt; and eight grandchildren. Burial was in the Bluebell cemetery, with James Bird dedicating ded-icating the grave. Mervin Betts. DeLos Gurr, Pat Duncan, Albert Hancock, Eldon Duncan, and Ernie Winkler served as pallbearers. |
