Show Three Auto Wrecks Recorded Over Holiday Week-End No fatalities or serious injuries injur-ies resulted from three weekend week-end auto wrecks recorded by -Highway Patrolman R. A. De-vine. De-vine. Friday night a 1941 Pontiac sedan, driven by John Preston Barton, Vernal, overturned east of Victory Park after hitting a cow. Barton, who was on his way to Pleasant Grove to get his wife, was not hurt. Damage Dam-age was estimated at $400. Saturday a 1948 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Brimp C. Morrill, Tridell, and a 1940 Mercury sedan, driven by Jack Sheffer, Randlett, crashed head-on head-on near Bennett. There were no injuries. Damag'e was estimated esti-mated at $100 to the Chevrolet Chevro-let and $75 to the Mercury. Sheffe.r was charged with driving driv-ing on the left side of the roads, and with having faulty brakes. A car driven by Lyle Goodrich, Good-rich, Vernal, failed to make a sharp turn early Sunday afternoon, after-noon, and went over a steep bluff 1.3 miles up the Pole creek road from Uinta canyon. Goodrich and two companions, Mark Freestone. Vernal, and Georgianne Ostler, Roosevelt were thrown from the car, as it rolled 150 ft. down the bluff, turning over several times. All were hospitalized. |
