Show H DEATHS ! Death Ends Service Of Wong C. Ifing; Services In Vernal By Fern Houston After many years of service in the mercantile business to people of this area, the life of Wong C. Wing is over. He died at his home at the age of 53, following a lingering heart ailment. He had spent his life since he was 18 years old in the vicinity vi-cinity of Fort Duchesne. He first worked one mile east of here in the store belonging to his father, Wong Sing. After his father's death, Wing built the building and moved the store to its present pres-ent location. He married Jennie Jue of Kansas City in the spring of 1938. She has been an inspiration inspira-tion and guide in all his undertakings, under-takings, is very capable and a 1 success in their business. When she came from Kansas City she brought with her Bernice. Frances Fran-ces and Alice Jue who hae labored faithfully to make the" store outstanding. They all are married now and living in different dif-ferent parts of the nation. Mrs. Thomas Louie (Berniece) is in New York; Mrs. Richard Combs is in Montana, and Mrs. Harold Mclntyre lives in New Mexico. He also has a niece, Mrs. Helen Jang, who was here at the time of -Mr. Wing's death. She has been here often with her husband. .They now live in San Francisco. All the girls, who are his nieces, and their husbands arc here to attend the funeral and burial of their uncle which took place in Vernal. Mr. Wing always loved the land of his choice, but felt a deep sympathy for those suffering suf-fering in Communist China. He has two nephews here Georg, who has been here four years, and Jimmy, who has been here less than a year. He also has an uncle living in Canada, Can-ada, who is here at the present time. Mr. Wing was very happy when on Feb. 8, 1951, he opened op-ened a new department store in Vernal under the management of Keith Anderson. It is a beautiful- modern storP and he was proud of its success and beauty. Mrs. Wing and George Wing will carry on the business at the stores in Vernal and on Highway High-way 40 near Fort Duchesne. Mr. Wing always appreciated every kindness shown him and had a reputation for being hon.-est hon.-est and for dealing fairly with all men. Those who knew him best loved him most. His generosity gen-erosity reached into many homes not known to others. Funeral services were held in the Vernal Third Ward, under un-der the direction of Bishop Lawrence Law-rence Fox. Prayer was offered by Rev. Wm. Trow, pastor of the Roosevelt Baptist Church. A quartet from the Vernal Third Ward sang two numbers, and George Davis sang a solo, "Beyond "Be-yond the Sunset. The speaker was President Archie Johnson of the Uintah Stake. A solo. "Go ing Home." was sung by LeRov Anderson, of Roosevelt, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Essie Alexander. In accordance with Mr. Wing's request, his body was cremated in Salt Lake City and the ashes were returned to Vernal for burial. The Dillman Mortuary of Roosevelt was in charge of arrangements. i JEANETTE G. CHAPMAN HELPER Funeral services were held in the Helper Ward Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Monday, at 2 p. m. for Mrs. Mary Jean-ette Jean-ette Gale Chapman, 34. sister of John B. Gale, of Roosevelt, who died in a Salt Lake hospital Thursday evening following a major operation. Bishop Lynn Broadbent conducted the services ser-vices and burial was in the Helper Hel-per Cemetery. Mrs. Chapman was born at Spanish Fork Dec. 12. 1917, a daughter of John Davis and Es-tella Es-tella Beckstrom Gale. She was married to Spenst. Chapman, June 10, 1936 in Helper. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She was active in LDS Church work in Relief Society. Primary and Sunday School and had lived in Helper for the past 23 years. Surviving are her husband; her mother; two sons and two daughters, Spenst Gale. Mark William, Emma Jean and Estella Jeanette (Nettie) Chapman, Helper;- three brothers and thrje sisters, Waldo B.
