Show I Band Concert j Entertains Patrons I The annual Altamont Senior Band Concert was held on Friday, Fri-day, November 21. The girls' I chorus sang before the band j played. There were several spe-i spe-i cial numbers, among' them a trio consisting of Mona Miles, Ver-etta Ver-etta Gomm and Alta Ames; a number by a boys' chorus; a solo by Mona Miles; and a few num-, num-, bers by the combined choruses 1 finished this part ofthe program. pro-gram. I The band was under the direction di-rection of Lorin Allred. There were some specialty numbers offered in addition to the band numbers presented. Carma Jean Hansen. Nellie Ny-berg, Ny-berg, Leda Beckstead and Wil-lard Wil-lard Bowden played "Tenderly" on their clarinets, and Arline Johansen played a clarinet solo, "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes." The audience particularly enjoyed en-joyed a clever novelty number ! by the band, "The Three Little Pigs." . After the concert, during the dance, two record albums were ! given away. Grant Hansen wen the first, an album of marches, i and Volney Boswell won the album of popular music. The purpose of the concert's money-raising project was to pay the school's share of the new horns purchased by the district. dis-trict. Mr. and Mrs. Oral Thacker are the proud parents of a new son. Miss Ann Boswell spent Tuesday, Tues-day, Wednesday and Thursday of last week in the Roosevelt Hospital with an attack of appendicitis. ap-pendicitis. - The Carnival Dance at Altamont Alta-mont High gym was well attended at-tended and very successful.
