Miss Wilkins received a diploma fully qualifying her as a dental assistant. Peggy Oldroyd, Melba Rich-man, Rich-man, Renae Gilbert and Bonnie White drove to Salt Lake Saturday Satur-day evening. They attended the Sunday session of the M.I. A. conference. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Fretwell and Yvonne motored to Ogden Saturday to take Mr. Fretwell's mother to her home after a week's visit here. Yvonne's cousin, cous-in, Janet Fretwell, returned with them for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Mecham left Tuesday morning for a week's visit in Salt Lake with Mrs. Mecham's sister, Mrs. Flora Davis. The Roosevelt Ward M.I.A. will hold a skating party at Vic tory Park, Tuesday, June 27. Refreshments will be sold and an admission will be charged. Transportation will be provided pro-vided for all who are at the church at 7:30 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. Joe D. Gleaton, of Price, former Roosevelt residents, res-idents, are the parents of a daughter, born June 7 in a Price hospital. Mrs. Gleaton is the former Nellie Miller, of Monarch. Mrs. Ray Labrum returned Tuesday from a visit in Salt Lake City and vicinity. Enroute home she stopped a few days at Currant Creek to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Labrum and family. Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Woods, of Driggs, Ida., visited friends and relatives here last week. Arvin Bellon and Don Sprouse spent the weekend in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Verlen Labrum attended the exercises when Richard Roberts, son of Mrs. Olga Roberts, o f Salt Lake, graduated from Wasatch academy. acad-emy. Mrs. Randall Stewart has been visiting in Salt Lake during dur-ing the past few days. She was joined Saturday by Bishop Stewart Stew-art who went in to attend the annual MIA conference. Also present at the conference were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ivory, Iv-ory, Mrs. Nida Winterton, Mrs. Helen Larson, Mrs. Verlaine Swenson and Mrs. Jean Snow. Kent Nelson returned Monday Mon-day from a week's vacation at Fish Lake. Wick Swain and son, Noel, of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. James Earnshaw and family, Salt Lake City, spent the weekend with their mother, Mrs. Pearl Swain. Colleen Norton returned to her home in Springville, Thursday, Thurs-day, after a two-week visit with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Anthon B. Christensen. Betty Jo Sprouse, daughter of Mr. and ' Mrs. Harry Sprouse, returned Tuesday evening from a week's trip to Chicago, where she attended a convention of Phi Chi Theta honorary sorority, soror-ity, as a representative from the B.Y.U. chapter. She was accompanied on the trip by two girls from the U of U chapter and the U of U alumni A stake MJ.A. dance will be held at the stake hall Wednesday Wednes-day evening, June 28. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Laris and Mrs. Parley Rawlings and her two sons returned recently from a 10-day trip to Oregon and Washington. Employees of the Safeway Store and their partners enjoyed en-joyed a steak fry at the power plant park in Uinta canyon last Thursday evening. Taking part in the festivities were Mr. and Mrs. Ardell Galloway, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Oldroyd, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Dye, Jay Prescott, Bob Timothy, Yvonne Fretwell, Phil Harrison, Revella Kimball, Max Mullins, Colleen Rasmus-sen, Rasmus-sen, Mary Ann Winn and Jimmy Forakis. Mrs. Ruth Bott, of Logan, derjartment head of the Ameri can Legion Auxiliary was guest speaker at a meeting in her honor hon-or Saturday evening at the ' American Legion barracks. Twelve members of the local chapter were present to hear her outline the years work. Luncheon was served, under the direction of Mrs. Pearl Moysh. Mrs. CUsta Angus was general chairman. In softball games Thursday night, June 16, the Jaycees defeated de-feated the Second Ward, 9-6, and Neola forfeited to the Uintah Sportsmen. Tuesday the Second Ward trounced the First Ward, 20-5. Neola forfeited to the Jaycees. Sun Oil and Neola have withdrawn with-drawn from the league. Replacements Replace-ments have not been chosen. Wednesday night the Roosevelt Roos-evelt women's team defeated Neola, 21-12.
