Show Backing Secured, Early Start Slated For Subdivision Adequate financial backing for a 50-house subdivision has now been secured, and L. E. Broadhurst, of the Felt Syndicate, Syndi-cate, Salt Lake City, will be in Roosevelt this weekend or the first of next week to deal for necessary real estate and complete com-plete initial plans; according to E. J. Nixon, chairman of the Lions club housing project. Mr. Broadhurst will set-up a local office, where he will handle han-dle construction plans, financing, financ-ing, and housing problems, both general and individual. Mr. Nixon said the Felt Snydi-cate Snydi-cate has secured sufficient building build-ing materials, as well as the necessary financial backing, to get construction underway in three weeks or a month, if preliminary pre-liminary plans work out as expected. ex-pected. When completed, Mr. Nixon said, the houses, comparable in quality to those now being built in Salt Lake City for the same price, will be available on FHA terms, with a small initial cost and monthly payments like rent. After 45 days, two houses per day are scheduled to be completed com-pleted by a crew of specialists working on a construction assembly as-sembly line basis. Local contractors and laborers will handle most of the work. A site for the project as yet has not been selected. Mr. Nixon concluded that the Felt Syndicate is also interested in building on individual lots at somewhat higher costs. |
