Show SOCIETY Peggy Oldroyd, Society Reporter SOCIALETTE Mrs. Kelly Sprouse presided at the annual installation banquet ban-quet of Socialette club, held Thursday evening, June 15, at Frontier, Grill for club members mem-bers and their partners. Luncheon, followed by an evening ev-ening of Bingo provided delightful delight-ful relaxation. Mrs. Bert Gardner Gard-ner entertained the group with a reading. Newly installed officers, who will direct club activities for the coming' season are Mrs. Ben Turner, president; Mrs. Dean Frandsen, vice president; Miss Charlene Bellon, secretary-treasurer; Mrs. Carl Betts, parlimen-tarian; parlimen-tarian; Mrs. Dale Ashby, reporter. report-er. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Mrs. Neldon Nyberg was hostess host-ess to members of the Neighbor-, hood Sewing club at her home Wednesday evening, June 14. Luncheon and an evening of sewing provided relaxation for seven club members and four club guests. ENGAGEMENT TOLD Adding interest to nuptial news this week is the announcement announce-ment of the engagement of Miss -, Barbie White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alden D. White, of Ballard, to Bernell A. Buchanan, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bu- chanan, of Roosevelt. Miss White graduated from Alterra high school in 1947 and was enrolled for five quarters at the BYU. At present she is employed at the local J. C. Penney Pen-ney Co. store. Mr. Buchanan is a graduate of Roosevelt high school. He was stationed with the Army Air Force at Denver, until his transfer trans-fer recently to Tacoma, Wash. CONTRACT CLUB A delightful arrangement of pink peonies, daisies, and snapdragons, snap-dragons, flanked by lighted pink tapers, formed the nucleus of the table decorations at Frontier Fron-tier Grill Saturday evening, June 17, when Mr. and Mrs. Sam G. Weiss entertained members mem-bers of Contract club at dinner and bridge. Their guest list included Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marimon, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ferron, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Mullins, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Ashton, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Orser, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch and. Wm. H. Ruppel. TUESDAY BRIDGE Roses and snapdragons added a touch of early summer loveliness loveli-ness at the Frontier Grill Tuesday Tues-day evening when Mrs. J. V. McLea entertained members of her club. Sixteen' guests enjoyed a delectable de-lectable salad course luncheon, followed by an evening of bridge. Prizes were won by Mrs. Glenn Wyler, Mrs. Axel Birch, and Mrs. Howard Harrison. ENGAGEMENT TOLD Adding her- name to the list of July brides will be Miss Lynn C. Schmucker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Schmucker, of Ulm, Minnesota, who will become be-come the bride of Wm. Junior Fausett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Fausett, of Ioka. The ceremony is scheduled for July 6 at the home of the bride's parents in Ulm. The president of North-Central States LDS mission, mis-sion, will officiate. Miss Schmucker graduated from New Ulm high school this spring. Mr. Fausett is a graduate of Roosevelt high school, class of 1946, and served a 2-year mission for the LDS church in the North Central States field. He is presently employed with the Farmers Co-op station in Roosevelt, where the young couple will make their home. |
