Show Ordinance AN ORDINANCE confirming confirm-ing and declaring effective an ordinance adopted by the City Council of Roosevelt City, Utah, on July 9, ,1951, subject to a favorable vote of the qualified electors of said city. WHEREAS, on the 9th day of July, 1951, an initiative petition peti-tion was presented to the City Council requesting the enactment enact-ment of an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE providing for additional water, water rights and for the construction of extensions ex-tensions and improvements to the municipally owned utility of the City of Roosevelt, consisting of a water plant and system; authorizing and providing for the issuance of $160,000 Water Revenue Bonds of said city for the purpose of defraying the cost of the acquisition of such water rights and extensions and improvements; prescribirm the form and other details of said bonds; confirming the sale thereof- providing for the coll-JCtion and disposition of the revsnues of said utility; making other provisions with respect to the operation of said utility and the issuance of said bonds, a;.d providing pro-viding for the payment oi said bonds;" and WHEREAS, on the 9th day of July, 1951, aforesaid, the City Council adopted said ordinance subject to a favorable vote of the qualified electors of City of-Ropsevelt of-Ropsevelt voting at a special election to be called by the City Council, and the City Council at said meeting called a special election to be held in said city on Tuesday, the 21st day of August, 1951, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said city the question of approving said ordinance; and WHEREAS, said election was duly and regularly held and a majority of the qualified electors of the city voting in said election elec-tion voted in- favor of the approval ap-proval of said ordinance and said election results have today been oficially canvassed by the City Council and declared to have resulted in favor of the approval of said ordinance; and WHEREAS, on said 21st day of August, 1951, there was also held in City of Roosevelt a special spe-cial election at which there was submitted to' the qualified electors elec-tors of said city who had paid a property, tax in the year preceding pre-ceding such election, the following fol-lowing proposition: "Shall the City Council of the City of Roosevelt, Utah, be au-orized au-orized to issue the bonds of said City in the amount of $lb'0,00u for the purpose of defraying the cost of the acquisition of additional addi-tional water and water rights and for the construction oi extensions ex-tensions and improvements to the municipally owned water plant and system of said city, said bonds to bear interest at 6 to June 1. 1956, and at 3 thereafter, and to mature serially ser-ially on June 1 of each of the years 1954 to 1976, both inclusive, inclus-ive, and to be paid solely as to both principal and interest from the revenues to be derived from the operation of said water system sys-tem and under no circumstances to be a general obligation to the city or payable from ad valorem taxes, all as provided in the initiative in-itiative ordinance adopted by said City Council on July 9, 1951, subject to approval by the electors, entitled 'AN ORDINANCE ORDIN-ANCE providing for additional water, water rights and for the construction of extensions and improvements to the municipally owned utility of the City of Roosevelt, consisting of a water plant and system; authorizing and providing for the issuance of $160,000.00 Water Revenue Bonds of said City for the purpose pur-pose of defraying the cost of the acquisition of such water rights and extensions and improvements; improve-ments; prescribing the form and other details of said bonds; confirming con-firming the sale thereof; providing provid-ing for the collection and disposition dispo-sition of the revenues of said utility; making other provisions with respect to the operation of said utility and the issuance of said bonds, and providing for the payment of said bonds.' " and the results of said election have today been officially canvassed can-vassed by the City Council and declared to have resulted in favor fa-vor of the issuance of said bonds; NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby here-by ordained by the City Council of City of Roosevelt, Duchesne County, Utah, that said ordinance ordin-ance is hereby.- approved, ratified, rati-fied, confirmed and declared to be in full force and effect; and that immediately after the adoption adop-tion of this ordinance this ordinance or-dinance . shall be signed by the Mayor and City Recorder, shall 'be recorded in a book kept for that purpose and shall be published pub-lished as required by law.
