Show Improve Living .... Rural Education Study Dates Set; By THELMA D. NYE "Improving Rural Living" has been chosen as the theme for the Rural Educational Conference set for' Feb. 15 and 16, at the Union High School, Roosevelt. The conference will encompass the entire Uintah Basin, with special keynote speakers for each of the general assemblies and group consultations with experts ex-perts in six different fields of pertinent interest to people of the Basin. '. The six subjects were chosen from a list of twenty subjects submitted in November by a special committee representing different communities in Duchesne Du-chesne and Uintah Counties. Superintendent Dean C. Chris- tensen, Duchesne County Schools, who was unanimously chosen to head the planning committee for the conference, has requested each community and organization to "keep tho conference dates open This will enable more people to participate partici-pate and secure the multiple benefits of this special educational educa-tional meet. i A poster contest, depicting the conference theme . and high lights, is now underway in the (different schools of the Basin, jwith the most attractive posters gaining public displayal. I Members of the executive committee who attended a planning plan-ning meeting in the Roosev?lt Municipal Building1 recently were: Supt. Dean C. Christensen, Allen Bond, Duchesne: Loui3 I Jensen, Bennie Schmiett. Robert Rob-ert Montgomery, Roosevelt; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Dastrup, Mt Emmons, and Mrs. Thelma D. Nye, Tabiona. The committe-; will meet again in Roosevelt, Jan. 15, to complete final arrangements ar-rangements for the conference. |
