Show Two Celebrations .... Pioneer Days Program To Lure Basin To Altamont, Roosevelt Roosevelt Stake T.I I A Sponsors July 24 Programs The stage is all set in Roosevelt Roose-velt for the annual Pioneer Days celebration and night rodeo, ro-deo, is an announcement made by George R. Hacking, stake president of the Y M M I A, and general chairman of the committee commit-tee in charge. President of the Y W M I A is Mrs. Ivan Payne. Following is a schedule of the events as released by tho committee for both days, July 24 and 25: Parade - Main Street - 10 a. m. Program at Park 10:30 Kids' Dance & Sports 10:30 Girls' Softball Game 11:30 (Myton vs Montwel) Sports & Races" (all ages) 11:30 Boys' Softball Game 1:15 p.m. Lions Club Circus 3 & 4 p. m. Night Rodeo (Rodeo grounds Night Rodeo 7:30 p. m. (At Roosevelt Rodeo Grounds both nights, July 24 and 25) The officers and committee members of the Roosevelt LDS Stake MIA, sponsors of the activity ac-tivity each year, extend a broad welcome to the entire Basin to join in the two-day celebration. "Go to Altamont in the afternoon, after-noon, and then finish the day ;it Roosevelt," is the advice of the committee. The parade will leave the Elementary School at 10 a. m. "sharp," marching east to Phillips Phil-lips Motel, then north on Main Street to first north, then west to the City Park. All entries must be at the school not later than 9:30 a. m. ASsricnt Readies Foe Annual Pioneer Day Fete It's a great fiesta that will await those who take time to journey to Mt. Emmons on July 24 and 25 to participate in their annual Pioneer Days Rodeo and program. Indian ponies and Indian In-dian cowboys will be the feature fea-ture attractions. According to Claude Iorg, general chairman, a full schedule sched-ule of activities has been planned for the two-day celebration. cele-bration. A program honoring the Pioneers Pio-neers of 1847 will open the festivities fes-tivities on July 24 at 10 a. m. in the Mt. Emmons Ward Chapel. Chap-el. Following the program a children's pioneer parade whl j march to Altamont Rodeo Park. Novelty games and races for children and adults, including a rolling pin throwing contest, will be next. Each of the seven wards in Moon Lake Stake will choose i candidate for rodeo queen and ihe will lead the opening of the rodeo activities. The rodeo will begin both days at 2 p. m. The morning of the second day will feature a ball game at 10:30 a. m. |
