Show Carnival Planned To Buy Union High Band Suits A united effort on the part of all communities in this area to raise funds to purchase band suits for Union High School resumed re-sumed from a meeting held Mon. day night at the school, witli Rex Curry general cnairmaa, presiding. ! An idea presented bv Wesley ! R. Dickerson, member of the 1 Roosevelt committee, met with the approval of the group present, pres-ent, and plans were formulated to proceed with a big carnival, with all communities participating. participat-ing. Date set for the big event is August 22, and Mr. Dicker-son Dicker-son was appointed as carnival chairman. In connection with the carnival carni-val will be a dance and the g'iving away of many valuable gifts, with the feature prize a 15-foot deep freeze, being donated do-nated to the committee at cost by Leavitt Equipment. Other tentative committees were named and will be announced an-nounced later. It is hoped that all communities, clubs and individuals indi-viduals will cooperate in every way to make this one big project pro-ject meet the $2500 quota which has been assigned the communities to get band uniforms uni-forms by next fall. The big affair will be held at Union High School, where carnival booths of all descriptions descrip-tions will be set up to offer everyone a gala night of entertainment enter-tainment for a worthy cause. |
