Show A Message From Your Doctors: We would like to inform our patients of a recent decision of the Uintah Basin medical Society to in-, crease some items in our Medical Fee Schedule. Following is the newly established minimum amount of a few items (x) indicates no Change from old fee! ". (x) Routine Office Calls $3-00 (x) House Calls in Daytime 5.00 (mileage extra) ; (x) House Calls, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m 7.00 Calls to Hospital after office hours 5.00 to 7.00 Telephone Consultations 1-00 (x) Immunizations 2.00 Complete Maternity Service on all cases delivering after 123152 100.00 This increase is in line with established practice prac-tice of more complete prenatal and postnatal care and with fees in other sections of the county. Tonsilectomy with preliminary and postoperative checkup 50.00 Adults 65.00 At this time also we would like to thank all and commend the majority of our patients for their cooperation and their understanding of our problems in trying to provide the best of service for them. However, we would like to ask for better cooperation cooper-ation in some respects. At the present time the worst offense is the excessive number of telephone calls of an unnecessary or thoughtless nature to the ' Hospital and the Doctor's offices. At the Hospital it is necessary for the Head Nurse on duty to answer calls whenever possible. Frequent calls, especially following an accident case, or concerning the progress pro-gress of a maternity patient, actually often greatly interferes with the proper care of the patient. No doctor objects to minor practical telephone consultations. consul-tations. Please think before calling. The individual who makes the call should be able to give the patient's pa-tient's symptoms accurately and in detail along with an accurate temperature reading. In recent years Doctors have become a little more conscious of their own health. With the grad-. grad-. ual extension of the average life span to 65 years of age, the Doctor's own has lagged behind at around 50 years. Most Doctors are trying to. take a little more time off for rest and relaxation. We would like to. encourage people to contact your doctor as much as possible during his regular office hours and avoid evening, night, Sunday and Holiday calls. We beg your understanding and indulgence in this respect, i Too many people think lightly of a night call which could have bee made in the day time and just take the attitude that it's natural for the Doctor to expect calls any time. Your Doctor has plenty of night work which is unavoidable, without the relatively rela-tively unnecessary night calls. The extra fee for service outside of regular hours is the Doctor's attempt at-tempt to discourage this practice. In conclusion, we invite all our patients to discuss dis-cuss frankly with us any questions regarding our services or fees. The best medical service is based on a friendly mutual understanding between Doctor and patient. (Signed by) UINTAH BASIN MEDICAL ASS'N (Advertisement) |
