Show SOCIETY Peggy Oldroyd, Society Reporter SOCIALETTE The Kelly Sprouse residence was the scene of gay festivities last Thursday evening when Mrs. Dale Ashby entertained members of the Socialette club. Miss Darlene Brown entertained enter-tained the group with a reading "The Heart of the Rose," and plans were laid for the club's annual inaugural banquet A delightful luncheon was served to seven members and guests. t t t CONTRACT Pink and white sweetpeas and tulips, artistically arranged in a low pottery container, added their beauty to the setting when Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Orser entertained enter-tained members of the Contract club at the Frontier Grill, Saturday Sat-urday evening, May 6. Nineteen guests enjoyed a delicious supper, followed by an evening of cards. High score was won by Mr. and Mrs. Lester Les-ter Mullins. BRIDGETTE Adding her name to this week's list of hostesses is Mrs. Ned Bellon, who entertained members of the Bridgette club at her home Thursday evening, May 4. A tempting salad course luncheon, served against a background back-ground of colorful tulips, was enjoyed by eleven guests. Bridge provided relaxation, following luncheon. Prizes were won by Mrs. Johnnie Cook, Mrs. Mont Killian, Mrs. Clem La-brum, La-brum, Mrs. Bil Murdock, and Mrs. Orson Stevens. O.E.S. BANQUET Duveromy Chapter No. 17, O.E.S. was hostess at a banquet at the Frontier Grill Tuesday evening, May 9, honoring Grand Chapter officers Evelyn Pesetto, worthy grand matron; Robert L. Marimon, worthy grand patron; pa-tron; Frances E. McCready, associate as-sociate grand matron; Harry Randle, associate grand patron; Naomi P. Hoskins, grand Ruth; Lois Lundberg, grand Martha; Fay Closson, grand warden; and Essie A. Neal, Margaret C. Rohn, and Flora D. Large, past grand matrons. Officers of the Grand Chapter, Chap-ter, Order of Eastern Star were here to make their annual visitation visi-tation at a regular meeting of Duveromy chapter. Chapter members were present from Jensen, Vernal, Ft. Duchesne, Neola, Myton, Duchesne, and Roosevelt. TUESDAY BRIDGE Mrs. Ray Jordan was hostess to members of Tuesday Bridge club when they convened at her home on May 9 to enjoy a delicious salad course luncheon and an evening of cards. Bridge prizes went to Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mrs. Paul Wilkins, and Mrs. Bennie Schmiett. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING It was a delightful luncheon and an evening of sewing when Mrs. Stanley Hall entertained nine members of Neighborhood Sewing club at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, May 3. Miss Eulah Mowrey attended as a club guest. |
