Show Louisiana Oil Worker Killed In Truck Crash Near Duchesne Vehicle Rolls Over Body; Two Duchesne Men Seriously Injured Jesse O. Brown, 28, of Delhi, La., was killed instantly late Monday when a National Geophysical Geo-physical water truck, in which he was a passenger, overturned after hitting a soft shoulder about 6V2 miles south of Duchesne Du-chesne on Highway 33. Mr. Brown was thrown from the cab, and the truck rolled over his body. Keith Duke, of Duchesne, driver of the truck, suffered serious face and head lacer ations; the other passenger, El-dridge El-dridge Buckalew, of Duchesne, broken ribs and a fractured pelvis. Both men were rushed to the Roosevelt hospital by Donald Bench, of Duchesne. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Buckalew was moved to the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City, where it was reported Tuesday that the lower low-er lobe of a lung had been punctured. punc-tured. He is being given blood tranfusions. " M.r. Brown, a son of Jesse L. and Etta Manning Brown, was born in Delhi, La. On Feb. 27, 1947, he married Hazel Plem-ons, Plem-ons, of Cortez, Colo. He had been working with the National Geophysical Co., of Dallas, Tex., for four years, and came to Duchesne Du-chesne about a week ago. He was stationed in Roosevelt last summer and fall. Funeral services will be held in Cortez, after which .the body will be sent to Louisiana for burial. |
