Show T.lt. Emmons Deane Case The Altamont high school faculty fac-ulty has selected Lorna Cook, of Boneta, as this years valedictorian. valedic-torian. Jean Mecham, of Mt. Emmons, will be salutatorian. Mrs. Orson Monson was taken to a Salt Lake hospital Tuesday, where she was found to be suffering suf-fering from gall stones. An operation op-eration was performed May 6. Her husband and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Monson were with her at the time. Moon Lake Stake officials and ward bishops are bringing to the stake, for a two-night presentation, presen-tation, the famous Hollywood pilgrimage play, "The Story of the Life of Christ." For the towns on the west side of the river, the picture will be shown at Mountain Home, Thursday night, May 11; for the east side, at Mt. Emmons, Saturday, May 13. Mrs. Leslie J. Orr entertained at a party Monday afternoon in honor of the 83rd birthday anniversary of her husband's mother, Mrs. Jennie Orr. Guests included Mrs. E. L. Murphy, Mrs. Earl Reese, Mrs. Claude Iorg, Mrs. Grover Mitchell, Mrs. Percy Potts, Mrs. Vernetta Mitchell, Mit-chell, Mrs. Adaline Knight, and Mrs. Sam Williams, all of Upal-co. Upal-co. Darlene Mecham, 4-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Del-mar Del-mar Mecham, suffered an acute attack of appendicitis, Wednesday, Wednes-day, May 3. She was taken to Salt Lake Thursday for an op- eration. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Hard-man Hard-man and children, of Seattle, visited Friday and Saturday with Mrs. Hardman's mother, Mrs. Anna L. Evans, and other relatives. About 40 people from Alton-ah, Alton-ah, Boneta, Mt. Home, Mt. Emmons, Em-mons, Talmage and Upalco, met Friday night at the high school building to discuss the rural telephone tel-ephone drive. A. F. Lentz, field representative of the R.E.A. was present to help complete organization organi-zation plans. An initial membership member-ship fee of $10 per family, was collected. Wm. R. Evans, an officer of-ficer of the proposed cooperative, cooper-ative, took charge of the meeting. meet-ing. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Bennion, of Salt Lake, brought their baby son to Mt. Emmons Sunday in order that he might be christened chris-tened at Sacrament meeting. Evan Bennion, the child's grandfather, grand-father, officiated at the naming ritual. Accompanying the Ben-nions Ben-nions for the weekend visit were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Crosby and baby, of Orem. Miss Muriel Irons and Mrs. Stella DeVries, of Ogden, and Lynn Case, of Salt Lake, were weekend guests of Stella's and Lynn's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Case. Miss Deane Case spent the weekend in Provo with her sister, sis-ter, Peggy Ann. |
