Show Hard Work Results In Ft. Duchesne Community Center Through the efforts of the Fort Duchesne Women's club and the cooperation of the community, com-munity, Fort Duchesne now has an attractive community building build-ing in which to hold social affairs af-fairs and meetings. The structure was originally one of the old barracks buildings, build-ings, and was taken over by the Fort Duchesne Women's club in October, 1946. At first progress was slow, according to members, and the task of renovating the old building build-ing seemed almost impossible. In 1949 the club entered the national "Build a Better Community" Com-munity" contest, taking as its project the completion of the building' to be used as a community com-munity social center. A considerable consid-erable amount of work was donated do-nated by club members and their families. The building now includes a banquet-recreation hall, kitchen, pantry, library room and wash rooms; and while not entirely completed, has been In use for several months by various groups and organizations. |
