Show Roosevelt And Neola Pcur $808 Down March Of Dimes' Coffers Results of the March of Dimes campaign for Roosevelt and Neola were tabulated this week by Howard M. Ivory, Duchesne Du-chesne county chapter chairman. Proceeds from these two communities com-munities netted $808,85, or over one-half of the county goal. The campaign will be continued con-tinued for another week in the western part of the county to include dances, ball games and other activities planned by cam-1 paign workers. A polio benefit dance will be held at Montwel, Feb. 18, to raise funds from this community. Under the direction of Mrs. Cora Todd, community campaign cam-paign director, and Mrs. Elva Stewart. P.E.V. (Polio Emergency Emer-gency Volunteers) chapter president, presi-dent, most of the local civic and social organizations assisted in the campaign at Roosevelt. The Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce collected $246.80 from business houses; the Roosevelt high school, $35; the elementary school, $116.10; church organ izations, $23.25; a food sale sponsored by the Junior Social Culture club netted $21.50; a house-to-house canvas and sale of a painting by the Socialette club, $75.30; coin collectors, $72.50; collections at the Roosevelt Roose-velt Theatre by members of the P.E.V., $84.50; Lions club donated do-nated $35; concessions at a basketball bas-ketball game and dance by members P.E.V., netted $50; and P.T.A. food sale netted $4.. Altogether Al-together $763.95 was made. Results of the campaign at Neola under the direction of Mr. Lorin Mills were elementary school, $20.85; coin collectors, S9.90; and picture show collections, collec-tions, $14.15, totaling $44.90. Campaign workers and everyone every-one who assisted in1 the drive are to be congratulated for the fine cooperative spirit and united unit-ed effort put forth, Mr. Ivory said. Results of the campaign in other Duchesne county communities commun-ities will be announced as soon as reports are received. |
