Show speakers Tell Of Opportunities In Range Reseeding I Howard Ivory, of the Soil I Conservation service, Roosevelt; j-" Claire Wilson, a member of the I PMA committee, Duchesne; and I Alma C. Esplin, USAC exten-j exten-j sion sheep and wool specialist, I Logan, were principal speakers Tuesday afternoon at the county coun-ty range reseeding conference, I held in the Duchesne LDS 1 church. County Agent Louis Jensen, i in charge of the program, esti-! esti-! mated there were about 50 or ! 60 present at the conference, i Mr. Ivory presented a pic s' ture of the extent of range re-I re-I seeding in Duchesne county, i principally with cooperating J farmers in the Fruitland, Tal-I Tal-I mage, and Tabiona areas. Re-j Re-j porting on experimental range reseeding work done on plots I near Fruitland, he said that ! crested wheat, slender wheat, ! and intermediate weed grass ? had done exceptionally well, j Mr. Wilson spoke on the as- I sistance the PMA committee can i give range reseeders. The com-j com-j mittee, Mr. Wilson said, will pay i up to 80 per cent of the cost of i range reseeding, if a farm is j registered with the committee, i and does not use over eight pounds of seed per acre. The PMA will also assist in clearing land preparatory to planting. Mr. Esplin stressed the Importance Im-portance of range reseeding as part of a giant western1 livestock live-stock industry. j |
