Show Graduates Prepare Commencement Elites For May 21 Seniors at Union High School this week were conducting final rehearsals for the program they will present as a' part of the school's second annual Commencement Com-mencement Exercises slated for May 21 in the gymnasium. The 118 graduates-elect will all be members of a chorus which will depict "The Story of America" in words and song, said L. F. Hutchings. principal. From a specially built platform plat-form in the large gymnasium the seniors will recount milestones mile-stones in the nation's history and growth of ideals. The presentation pre-sentation will be climaxed by singing of the school song, "Onward, Union." Speakers will include nine seniors who are to be graduated with honors. They include Na-dene Na-dene Ottosen, Carol Lynne Goodrich, Velma Moosman, Mary Murphy, Kenneth M. Nickell, Nick-ell, Ruth Burr, Jean LeRaye Drollinger, Dolores Arlene Brown and Doyle Lyman Huber. 'Seniors will receive their diplomas di-plomas in caps and gowns. Girls will wear white, and boys navy blue gowns. I Diplomas will be presented by Dr. F. G. Eskelson, vice-chairman vice-chairman of Union Board of Education. Mr. Hutchings will introduce graduates. A graduation dance, to which students, parents and patrons are invited, will follow the ceremonies. |
